Socially Responsible Modeling, Computation, and Design

Empowering students to enact the positive societal change they are passionate about within Illinois Tech, Chicago, and beyond.

SoReMo advocates for ethical, equitable approaches in computation, modeling, and design, contributing to the common good of Chicago and beyond through research and education initiatives at Illinois Tech. 

Spring 2025 meeting dates: February 21, March  7, March 14, April 4, April 25.  All times are 12:45pm-1:45pm.

 Location: RE-121.

 Final presentations (tentative at MTCC) May 9th, the last day of the final exams week. 

Students

SoReMo offers semester-long research fellowships that provide unique interdisciplinary research opportunities for students who want to apply computational, modeling, and design skills to solve a social issue. 

Faculty

Are you interested in engaging with our students and projects? Are you able to, through engagement in our bi-monthly Forum, offer advice, guide data analysis, be an accessible resource for our Fellows tackling important societal challenges? 

Advisors

Are you a community leader or stakeholder able to provide feedback on issues of social responsibility?  Are you willing to act as a subject matter expert advisor to our Fellows? We would love to hear from you!
